Fill-r-up

Hey guys, I'm back and I've found this great new store.

Fill-r-up is a customized gift basket service and retail store located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The company is the brainchild of Amanda Poses who, as an event planner at a top fashion company, was often looking for gift baskets for VIP clients and events. In her quest to provide original, unique gift baskets, she found the products never seemed to measure up to the quality items her clientele was accustomed to. As a result, Amanda created and opened fill-r-up in New York.

With
Father's Day coming up soon, Fill-r-up has created some great baskets for Dad. Like this, Chill'n & Grill'n basket.

My new favorite pants...

So everyone has that pair of pants that they love each season. For me, it is the stretch cotton cropped chino from Banana Republic. I bought them in Hedge Green and fell in love with them, that I just orded them in Pastel Pink as well! They are very flattering with a wider leg and low-rise waist. The 2 1/2'' waistband with 1'' belt loops looks adorable and flattering as well! Anyone who is lucky enough to see me today, will see me sporting them and all season long!

Chanel lives

coco chanel

Starting today, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will run an exhibit devoted to the 20th century's most iconic fashion designer, Gabrielle Chanel. Or better known as Coco Chanel. The museum had originally planned its Chanel retrospective in 2000, but canceled the show after a dispute with Lagerfeld over the inclusion of contemporary designers. The exhibit will feature original designs by Chanel as well as designs by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. Chanel is famous for making black what is today, with the signature little black dress. Also, the signature Chanel tweed suits will be displayed. Chanel also has become famous for her many classic quotes such as "Look for the woman in the dress. If there is no woman, there is no dress." This exhibit will run through August 7th so check it out this summer and come visit me while you are in New York!

Gap Ditches Sarah!

Last night I saw a new commerical for Gap White Jeans. Instead of seeing my favorite actress strutting her stuff, I saw Joss Stone. Whatever happened to SJP!?

The Gap has replaced former Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker as its spokeswoman with 17-year-old Grammy award-winning singer Joss Stone. Gap signed Parker to a three-season deal in the middle of 2004, the first multi-season deal the company has ever signed with a celebrity. She starred in ads from fall 2004 to spring 2005, most recently in the "Pretty Khaki" ads.

Sarah's replacement was annouced in the same week her spring campaign launched. Sarah was very hurt and offended. "Joss is not only a teenager, she's also a virtual unknown. Had her replacement been a big star, perhaps Sarah wouldn't have minded so much."

Apparently low sales since the launch of Parker's campaign was the main reason for the drop. Parker does not resonate strongly enough with the company's core consumer demographic.

Be a Trendy Athlete

adidas by Stella McCartney

Are you an athlete but love fashion? Well do I have the best combination for you! Stella McCartney's new line of Adidas sneakers and apparel. The new Fall/Winter 2005 line debuted today in London. The collection focuses mainly on running, gym, and swim attire. Fall/Winter will also introduce apparel for outdoor sports such as trail running and climbing into the collection. Offerings such as gym bags and other exercise accessories will be added to those already on the market such as yoga mats and sneakers.

Last September, Adidas and Stella McCartney, a young British fashion talent combined resources to launch adidas by Stella McCartney. The label launched in February of 2005 and was intended to bring a feminine sensibility to performance sportswear. Through lush colors which reflected McCartney's soft, hazy palette and tailored designs boasting hints of more stylized draping, adidas by Stella McCartney hit home with gym-going fashionistas all over the US and Japan.
